Cong. Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr., represented by Atty. Cyphrine Maxcel Dalog-Duclan, chief of staff, delivered an inspirational message. During her speech, she congratulated the newly elected leaders, officers, and advisers and emphasized the importance of their roles in guiding the MPSU student body.

She outlined five critical responsibilities for student leaders, which include developing leadership skills, promoting unity, training for citizenship, supporting academic excellence, and advocating for peace and development.

The outgoing SSC administration passed the key of responsibility to the new administration. Former Vice President Ms. Dozelle Saligumba represented outgoing President Ms. Elizabeth Agwilang in the handover ceremony, which underscored the university’s tradition of continuity and accountability in student governance.

The newly elected SSC President, Hill Coleman C. Awichen, addressed the gathering with a commitment to serving the student body diligently.

“I want to assure you all that we will not take this position for granted. We understand the weight of this role, and we are committed to giving our best every single day. We are ready to face the challenges ahead, to listen to your concerns, and to work alongside each of you to create an environment where everyone can thrive,” he stated.

He also mentioned that without the help of everyone, he’s not in front of today’s oath-taking ceremony.

“I am fortunate to have a dedicated team by my side, and together, we are determined to make a meaningful impact. But we can’t do it without you—your ideas, your voices, your involvement. This council will only be as strong as the community we build together,” he added.

The ceremony was attended by several university officials, including Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rogelio K. Balcita Jr., Vice President for Resource Generation, and Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, Bontoc Campus Director, SSDO Coordinator Jason F. Paleg, Scholarship and Grants Coordinator Jay Napanoy and Municipal Administrator Eric Fulangen Sr. as a representative of Bontoc Municipal Mayor Jerome B. Tudlong, Jr.
