
The University through its Extension Unit, carried out a needs assessment for the academe’s initiative on adopting a cultural tourism village in Kalimbatawa, Bauko, Mountain Province yesterday, 29 November 2024. Said activity is designed to identify and address specific needs cultural traditions and tourism opportunities within the chosen cultural tourism village.
Through said needs assessment, stakeholders can collaborate with the community to develop programs and infrastructures that can improve residents’ quality of life, foster pride in cultural traditions, and attract networks of responsible tourism.
The findings will result in tailored interventions that will benefit the community economically while ensuring cultural and environmental sustainability, building a model of community-led development aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and its principles.
The initiative is one of the University’s programs and commitments to extending services to its community and stakeholders.
