MPSPC Kicks Off Annual Mathematics and Science Festival


The two-day Mathematics and Science Festival kick-starts today, March 20, 2024, at the Student Center. Organized annually by the Mathematics and Science Societies, which aims to encourage students from various departments to join in the different competed events including Games of the Generals, Chess, Rubik’s Cube, Tower of Hanoi, Dama, Darts, Sci-Dama, Science Quiz Bee and other minor games.

“Mathematics and Science are not just an academic subjects in the educational institutions but also exercised in various phases of life,” said College President Edgar G. Cue, who was represented by SSDO Dean Ms. Jennifer Ruth C. Tuazon. “Let your experiences garnered from this event serve as your momentum – an impetus,” he added.

Further, “the participation of our students has a huge impact on the attainment of this pursuit, by unleashing their abilities through different contested events. It is then, my ardent hope, that you, our dear students, will immerse in the learning and enhancement process”, said Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, the Bontoc Campus Director.

GAD Director and Focal Person Ms. Parline Angyap Ulallim represented by Ms. Nicole Bryle Gut-omen stressed the crucial role of gender equality in such activity. “Sportsmanship transcends all genders this month. We acknowledge the increasing role that sportsmanship plays in fostering tolerance and respect, advancing development and peace, empowering women and young people,” she added.

The event will end tomorrow, March 21, 2024.
