Accountancy Dep’t extends service to community through Accounting Seminar

With a quest to deliver holistic service to the community, the Accountancy Department of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) organized a seminar dubbed “Accounting for Non-Accountants” for the members of the Northern Sagada Barangay Small Scale Mining Association (NSBSSMA) yesterday, March 1, at Banga-an, Sagada, MP.

The seminar sought to acquaint the members of the association with accounting concepts as well as the processes of consolidating financial information and statements to make it understandable, transparent, reliable, and accurate for all their members.

College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue emphasized in his message that the activity is part of MPSPC’s commitment to provide a powerful tool for education and skill development to the public through its extension programs and services. He also extended hope that the participants will internalize the ideas so they can better upscale their finances and work toward economic stability.

Said activity addresses the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Partnership.
