University personnel receive training on Luis Hora’s best practices in records disposition

Records custodians from various offices of the GASS and Academic sectors of the University were capacitated on records disposition management through a workshop held at the Student Center today, 11 November 2024.

Facilitated by the Records and Archives Ofiice in partnership with Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHRMH), said activity equipped the participants with the knowledge and skills necessary in records disposition. Ms. Ursula Dontogan, Records Officer of LHRMH served as the resource speaker.

Workshops on the inventory of records using the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) Form 1 and request for authority to dispose records using NAP Form 3 were conducted after Ms. Dontogan’s lecture on records disposition management.

In his welcome remarks, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue represented by Bontoc campus Director Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed reminded the participants of the event’s importance. “Given this opportunity for you to be informed, we can make a university that provides easier access to information needed in a short period, is free from the clutter of unnecessary paperwork, and focuses on what really matters,” Dr. Cue said.

Said activity further manifests the University’s commitment to efficient records management, a crucial factor for operational efficiency and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
