MPSPC Hosts Fine Dining and Counseling Event for Employees and Partners

MPSPC employees and their partners attended the Fine Dining and Counseling facilitated by the Gender and Development Unit, HM/TM Department, and the Human Resources and Management Office yesterday, February 23, 2024. This aims to strengthen the bonds between the couples who attended the event.

“MARRIAGE is a sacred sacrament of two loving hearts, embarking on a shared path, and joining hand-in-hand toward a journey of love, partnership, and commitment. It is a relationship blessed by God for eternity, where it is built with trust, respect, and mutual understanding through thick and thin,” stressed College President Edgar G. Cue represented by Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Dexter C. Lingbanan.

Hon. Jerome B. Tudlong, Mrs. Madelyn Tudlong, Mr. Norbert Cue, and Mrs. Catalina Cue shared their life experiences with the couples. Mayor Tudlong and his wife stressed that it’s not always one size fits all in marriage which is why they reminded the couples that love is being able to adjust and laughter and prayer help.

Mr. and Mrs. Cue also advised the couples to always put God at the center of their marriage. They stressed the importance of swallowing one’s pride, loving and respecting each other and asking for forgiveness in times of shortcomings. “Life is give and take,” Mr. Cue added.

Rev. Fr. Marcial Lloyd C. Castañeda also shared his spiritual reflection on marriage, stressing the difference between contract (marriage between man and woman) and covenant (marriage between God and the husband and wife). He stressed that love is not an emotion, it is a relationship and a commitment.

The event served as a kick-off activity of the GAD Unit in celebration of National Women’s Month this March 8, 2024. The Women’s Month is a worldwide celebration and is commemorated in the Philippines every March 8 through the Republic Act 6949 series of 1990.
