RDE Steers Action and Strategic Planning for 2024

Aiming to chart its Research and Extension activities for 2024, the Research, Development and Extension Services of the College steers its Action and Strategic Planning on January 23 to 24 at the Rock Inn & Café, Sagada Mountain Province.

The activity intends to map out and plan the different R&E activities of the institution by aligning its operations with the SDGs, discuss issues and concerns raised by the departments in the implementation of R&E activities, and to produce this year’s Operational Plan through a workshop.

With the activity’s opening, the VPRDE, Dr. Ephiphania B. Magwilang, emphasized the sector’s thrusts “Modern research-based solutions and responsive, innovative technologies through active knowledge generation” and “Notable partnerships and extension services for sustainable communities,” in the crafting of the departments’ Operational Plans for 2024.

Further, the College President, Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by Chief-of-Staff Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr., stressed out in his message that “planning goes beyond the College’s and its administration’s dedication to laying the groundwork, overcoming obstacles, producing innovations, and coming up with plans to deal with unanticipated problems.”

After the message of the College President, reports from the Research and Development Unit and the Extension Services were presented by the directors, Ms. Luzlyn M. Agwilang and Dr. Joy Fraine M. Ngodcho respectively (https://drive.google.com/…/1IcilwwZJbkYEcpXRv-m…). Issues and concerns coming from all the departments present during the activity were also discussed after the presentation.

With the groundwork set, the workshop for the different department’s Research and Extension Operational Plans ensued. The consolidated outputs were then presented by the Research and Extension Campus Directors, Dr. Lichelyn M. Nasungan and Ms. Daniela W. Paspas for Bontoc Campus and Dr. Maria Paz O. Baldo and Dr. Juvencio F. Cawaren for Tadian Campus. Comments and suggestions on the Operational Plans were given by the VPRDE and the Research and Extension Directors.

With a productive discussion from the activity’s session, the event ended on January 24, 2024.
