University conducts seminar-workshop on Completed Staff Work to sectoral heads

With the transformation of the institution into a state university, the need to’remind, retool, regenerate, and enhance’ its organizational employees pushed the university’s Planning and Development, Human Resource Management, and VPAF offices to facilitate the conduct of the three-day seminar-workshop on Completed Staff Work today, October 15, 2024, at the Coffee & Lemon, JBA Building, Samoki, MP. Dubbed Completed Staff Work: The Power of Navigating University Operations Management Technique towards Sustainable MPSU Personnel Development, said activity was attended by the Vice Presidents, Unit Directors, Campus Directors, School Deans, and Associate Deans and Coordinators.

Completed Staff Work is a principle of management that states that subordinates are responsible for submitting written recommendations to superiors in such a manner that the superior needs to do nothing further in the process than review the submitted document and indicate approval or disapproval. It also entails the study of a problem and the presentation of a doable and focused solution by personnel. Thus, the staff is responsible for ensuring that the document or report presented to the signatory is already complete, accurate, and concise.

Anchored to the SDGs 4, 5, 8, and 17, and in the university organizational context, the seminar is crucial in the workplace, as it improves communication, fosters inclusivity and accountability, promotes gender equality, teamwork, and collaboration, and encourages inclusive decision-making skills.

Dr. Rexton F. Chakas, a professor from the School of Criminal Justice and Liberal Arts, comprehensively discussed the abouts of the said management principle. A workshop followed in the afternoon.

University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue is represented by Executive Assistant Atty. Dublin Okoren-Facullo pointed out that the aim of the training is more than just enabling the participants to be obedient to the systems and processes, but as employees who are more empowered to think critically and collaborate effectively to push boundaries and be able to challenge the status quo.

Sectoral heads and staff writers of the Tadian campus will be having the seminar tomorrow, October 16, 2024. Staff writers from the Bontoc campus will conclude the seminar on 17 October 2024.
