Three University students and their mentor attended the 2024 Regional Data Festival North Luzon Cluster. Ms. Riza Mea Tangkawan and Ms. Esther Parocha from the Mathematics Society and Mr. Hans Christian Casionan from the Information Technology department, along with Dr. Rolly T. Dagdagui participated in the said event, which was held at Subic Bay Travelers Hotel and Event Center on October 3-4, 2024.
Bearing the theme, “Advancing Data and Statistics through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation,” the event instilled appreciation and enhanced statistical literacy on official statistics among students; enjoined the academe in the advocacy of statistics; strengthened partnerships and fostered collaboration with other government offices, civil society organizations, and the private sector; and promoted proper interpretation and use of official statistics among media practitioners.
The Cordillera region secured 3rd runner-up. MPSU, along with the University of the Philippines Baguio and Kings College of the Philippines, were the contenders from the region.
