
University personnel and students of the Bontoc, Tadian, and Paracelis campuses participated in the conduct of the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill today, September 26 September 2024.
Three various casualties were simulated on the Bontoc campus for the drill: one injured personnel from the Admin Building and two students from the Academic Building. Members of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) with the VP for Admin and Finance, Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, as the Emergency Operations Center Manager, and the Dean for SoABE Tech Dr. Elvin P. Rosario as the designated Incident Commander also actively coordinated and managed the different groups associated with the drill.
All campuses performed the Duck, Cover, and Hold. The Bontoc campus evacuated to the Eyeb grounds while the Tadian and Pracelis campuses evacuated to each campus’ grounds.
Evaluators from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Bontoc General Hospital (BoGH) were also present during the drill. They were Mr. Jonas K. Chumacog and Dr. Steven Pasayan, respectively. Said evaluators were accompanied by Mr. Kashmirr Takayeng and Ms. Caroline Villanueva, both from the BoGH.
A briefing was conducted after the drill. Observations during the drill were laid bare by the assessors for improvement.
