Mountain Province State University and the Municipality of Besao signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the project GOLINSAN, aimed at building the capacity of local tour guides and community members to become effective and culturally sensitive tourism interpreters.

The initiative will provide trainings to help participants share Besaoโ€™s rich cultural heritage and natural attractions authentically, supporting sustainable tourism and local economic growth.

The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both parties. Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr., served as the representative of the MPSU President, Dr. Edgar G. Cue, symbolizing the University’s dedication to extension services and community partnerships. The Honorable Mayor of Besao, Hon. Bryne O. Bacwaden, representing the local government, highlights the municipality’s vision for inclusive development. Also present were Ms. Dallay N. Annawi, the Municipal Tourism Action Officer of Besao; Dr. Joy Fraine Ngodcho, MPSU’s Extension Director; and the Tourism faculty members, headed by Mike N. Allidem.

This partnership marks an important step forward, with training activities set to begin soon to empower the community and promote Besao as a cultural tourism destination.
