
Administration Conference Hall— The University through its Gender and Development (GAD) Unit successfully conducted a three-day capacity-building activity entitled โGAD Focal Point System (GFPS) Reconstitution and GAD Agenda Formulation Workshopโ held on January 12โ14, 2026. The activity was facilitated by Dr. Ferdinand P. Gonzales, a certified Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) National Resource Pool member and Co-Chair of the Regional GAD Committee โ Cordillera Administrative Region (RGADC-CAR), who served as the resource speaker throughout the workshop.
The engaging and participatory three-day engagement aimed to reconstitute and strengthen the Universityโs GAD Focal Point System, enhance membersโ competencies on gender mainstreaming, and formulate a responsive, evidence-based, and strategic GAD Agenda aligned with national GAD mandates, PCW guidelines, and regional priorities. Through participatory lectures, facilitated workshops, group discussions, and hands-on planning exercises, GFPS members actively engaged in gender analysis, results-based GAD planning and budgeting, and the strengthening of institutional mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation.
Said activity significantly reinforced the commitment of Mountain Province State University to advancing gender equality, promoting inclusive and participatory governance, and ensuring that gender-responsive policies, programs, and services are systematically integrated across instruction, research, extension, and administration.
