
Administration Conference Hall— The University, headed by University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, and the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, headed by its University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, inked a Memorandum of Understanding today, 22 January 2026.
Said MOU focuses on gender-responsive agricultural management practices through research collaboration and institutional learning, which includes the exchange of students, faculty, and researchers, as well as the exchange of academic information and publications, joint research activities, joint organizers of international research publications, and other related programs.
VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, in her welcome remarks, stressed the importance of prioritizing inclusivity and gender responsiveness, as it leads to the empowerment of women and marginalized farmers, aligning with the CHED ACHIEVE framework and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Meanwhile, Prexy Cue reiterated the institutionโs vision of becoming a Highland Coffee University deeply rooted in local culture. He emphasized the vital roles of women, indigenous peoples, and youth in this mission, noting that combining expertise and facilities enables the development of policies that serve both local communities and national interests. Dr. Cue further expressed optimism about fostering meaningful learning experiences that will benefit the University and the farming communities it supports with the MOU.

The signing was followed by a cultural immersion in the Bontoc Museum and an agritourism visit and cross-cultural experience.
