
Administration Conference Hall— The University conducted a training-workshop on the 21st century skills for modern agriculturists today, 06 March 2026.
Bearing the theme, โBuilding the Skills of Agriculturists for a Resilient and Future-Ready Agriculture Sector Promoting Innovation, Sustainability, and Leadership in the 21st Century,โ the training brought together agriculturists, practitioners, and IT professionals.
Dr. Jonar I. Yago, University Professor from the Nueva Viscaya State University, presented his topics, including Technical Scientific Proficiency in Digital Technologies; Environmental and Global Awareness; Problem Solving and Critical Thinking; Collaboration and Communication; Business and Entrepreneurial Skills; Social Responsibility and Leadership; and Adaptability and Lifelong Learning. A workshop followed later, facilitated by Mr. Asher L. Lug-ao.
Meanwhile, in his inspirational message, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue noted that agriculture is not merely an industry, but also the foundation of civilization. He also stressed how agriculture becomes smarter, more sustainable, and more inclusive when tradition meets technology and knowledge meets bold innovation.
Further, Dr. Marc Sylvester Garcia, the keynote speaker from Laguna State Polytechnic University, challenged the participants to commit to becoming resilient in adversity, innovative in practice, sustainable in action, and courageous in leadership. โThe harvest of tomorrow depends on the preparation of today,โ Dr. Garcia added.
MPSU-Bontoc Administrator and CPD Manager Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, who also represented VP for Administration and Finance Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr., and VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, delivered messages of support to the said event.
