MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue graced the Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Financial Literacy Module for Cooperatives today, February 4, 2026, held at Coffee and Lemon Café, Bontoc, MP.
The event gathered distinguished guests from the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Credit Policy Council (DA-ACPC), MPSU personnel, and other stakeholders committed to boosting financial resilience in local communities.
Through Bontoc Campus Director Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, Dr. Cue emphasized the critical role of financial literacy in today’s fast-evolving economy.
“Financial literacy is no longer optional; it is essential. Through this program, we strengthen our shared commitment to inclusive growth, informed decision-making, and sustainable livelihoods,” said Dr. Cue.
Dr. Cue also encouraged active engagement and reminded trainers that their role extends to empowering cooperatives and communities to become financially resilient and future-ready.
“The time, effort, and attention you invest in this training will yield returns far beyond personal gain. It will equip you with the confidence and competence to guide others toward better financial decisions,” he added.
Said training aims to build capacity among participants to deliver effective financial literacy sessions, aligning with broader goals of regional development and sustainable cooperatives in Mountain Province.
