The University, through its Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Gender and Development Unit, launched a two-day seminar-workshop today 25 March 2026. The workshop focuses on constructing quantitative and qualitative research tools for prospective tool validators, including faculty members from MPSU-Bontoc and MPSU-Tadian campuses. The event will conclude tomorrow, 26 March 2026.
This workshop is a continuation of a similar training held last month, with an added emphasis on ethical soundnessโparticularly the use of gender-inclusive language in qualitative and quantitative research instruments.
The workshop features resource speakers Dr. Aida A. Dapiawen, faculty member of the University of Baguio, and Dr. Easter B. Belandres, Director of the Center for Training and Professional Development at Urdaneta City University.
In his message, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by Atty. Denmark P. Butic, Coordinator for Strategic Communications Services, encouraged participants to ensure that research outputs and tools align with the universityโs mission to โempower minds, transform lives, and strengthen the foundation of our university for years to come.โ
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, also represented by Atty. Butic, highlighted the significance of the tools, stating that they โempower tool validators to measure impact, validate curricula, and drive community-centered progress aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.โ
Following the workshops, participants will engage in presentations and critiques of the research tools developed.
