The Fire Olympics 2026 ignited with passion, discipline, and unity as University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue graced the event with his presence and delivered a stirring message to participants today, March 20, 2026 at Eyeb ground, MPGCHS, Bontoc, MP.
In his message, he shared a story of bayanihanโa community rallying together during a fire, neighbors helping one another without hesitation.
โNo one asked, โIs this my responsibility?โ Instead, they asked, โHow can I help?โ That spirit is what we hope to ignite in each one of you today,โ said Dr. Cue.
He also reminded the students that their training is not only about enforcing the law but about serving humanity. He stressed that the Fire Olympics is more than competitionโit is preparation, discipline, and responsibility.
โIn times of fire and emergency, good intentions alone are not enough. Without proper training, one can easily become a victim instead of a responder. True service means knowing how to act, when to act, and how to protect yourself while protecting others,โ he added.
Said Fire Olympics showcased rescue simulations, firefighting drills, and team competitions, all designed to instill readiness and resilience.
