
A training workshop for student leaders, titled Leading with Purpose, Serving with Integrity, was held today to enhance youth leadership skills. The event featured Hon. Jesus V. Sison, Deputy National Director of the Council for Restoration of Filipino Values, as the keynote speaker. He addressed the importance of ethical and accountable student governance through his talk on Leading with Integrity: Ethical and Accountable Student Governance.
Mr. Jason F. Paleg, Coordinator for Student Organizations, also contributed with a presentation-workshop entitled From Me to We: Leading with Purpose Through Teamwork, where the student leaders engaged in various activities that highlighted teamwork.
The student leaders also performed intermissions that added enthusiasm to the program.
During the event, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by the Vice President for Internationalization, Planning, and Information Management Atty. Dexter C. Lingbanan, shared valuable insights on leadership. He emphasized that true leadership is not about authority or power but about inspiring, listening, serving, empowering others, and demonstrating humility, empathy, and confidence. Dr. Cue highlighted the importance of young leaders developing integrity and purpose as they shape their future roles.
