
Bontoc, Mountain Province — Members, officers, and staff of the Sagada Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SMPC) gathered for a two-day learning activity titled “KITA MO NA: Building Financially Resilient Cooperative” held on April 22–23, 2026 at the MPSU Conference Hall, MPSU, Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Organized by MPSU in partnership with the Department of Agriculture- Agricultural Credit Policy Council (DA-ACPC), the event aimed to equip cooperative stakeholders with practical knowledge and strategies to enhance financial resilience and sustainability.
The program featured a blend of formal sessions and interactive activities. University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the role of cooperatives in advancing inclusive growth and community empowerment.
A highlight of the activity was the financial literacy game, facilitated by Game Master Nicole F. Gut-omen with support from designated “bankers.” The simulation allowed participants to experience real-world cooperative challenges, encouraging teamwork, decision-making, and financial strategy.
The trial and proper game sessions generated enthusiasm and active engagement among participants.The activity concluded with the Life Lesson Synthesis session led by Ms. Jenifer N. Damayan, Chairperson of the Accountancy Department, where participants reflected on their experiences, connected cooperative values to financial practices, and shared insights.
By combining education, interactive learning, and cultural values, “KITA MO NA” reinforced SMPC’s commitment to building financially resilient cooperatives that can withstand challenges while fostering unity and sustainable development in the Mountain Province.
