
608 graduates mark historic 1st Batch at MPSU-Bontoc Campus’ 55th Commencement Exercises; 12th DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman serves as Guest of Honor and Speaker.
26 May 2026 – A total of 608 graduates from the first batch of MPSU-Bontoc Campus received their diplomas during the 55th Commencement Exercises of Mountain Province State University, held at the Eyeb Grounds in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Carrying the theme, “Brewing Excellence: Cultivating Highland Heritage, Roasting Potentials, and Savoring Global Success,” the ceremony celebrated the academic achievements and perseverance of the graduating students.
MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue warmly introduced the guest of honor and speaker, Honorable Amenah F. Pangandaman, the 12th Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management of the Philippines and recipient of the degree Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, Honoris Causa. Secretary Pangandaman’s accomplishments and exceptional leadership served as an inspiration to the graduating class as they embark on a new chapter of their lives.
In her message, Secretary Pangandaman shared a few simple pieces of advice for the graduates. First, there is no substitute for hard work. Second, always show kindness. Third, be grateful at all times. Fourth, find your passion and advocacy. Lastly, be agile and adaptable.
“Wherever life takes you, continue to brew excellence. May you cultivate heritage. May you roast your potentials through perseverance. And may you savor not only personal success but also meaningful success,” added Secretary Pangandaman. Moreover, she also lauded exemplary students for their academic performance and community impact.

5 Master of Arts in Teaching English,

2 Master of Science in Criminal Justice Education major in Criminology;
• 383 graduates from the College of Criminal Justice Education and Liberal Arts:
364 Bachelor of Science in Criminology and
19 Bachelor of Arts in Political Science;
• 193 graduates from the College of Teacher Education:
44 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English,
13 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics,
19 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science,
24 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies,
74 Bachelor of Elementary Education,
5 Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, and
14 Bachelor of Special Needs Education.
