MPSU Co-Organizes the 14th Regional Health Research Conference, Showcases Research Excellence


Mountain Province State University (MPSU), under the leadership of Dr. Edgar G. Cue, reaffirmed its commitment to advancing health research through its active participation in the 14th Regional Health Research Conference held on June 18–19, 2026, at Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet. Carrying the conference theme, “Binnadang for Health: Bridging Communities through Research, Collaboration, Innovation, and Care,” the university showcased its growing research excellence through student and faculty participation in poster, policy brief, and podium presentations.

Representing MPSU, Dr. June II A. Kiblasan presented a policy brief on strengthening rural youth mental health services through the proposed 𝗚𝗔𝗪𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗯 and delivered a podium presentation on research on psychosocial aspects of chronic kidney disease, earning the 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 award. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing student also participated in the poster presentation category, demonstrating the university’s continued support for student research engagement. Meanwhile, Ms. Cherry Ann B. Chagyowen, for the research on Clinical Learning Challenges and Coping Mechanisms of Student Nurses, with co-authors Kate Sol S. Gabutan, Alfred O. Fomocao, and Liza Chimeng K. Tarnate, and Ms. Lea P. Ongan, for her research on the Reintegration of Transcultural Nursing into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Curriculum: A Bibliometric Analysis, were recognized for successfully publishing their research outputs following the consortium’s Scopus-indexed manuscript writing workshop, further highlighting MPSU’s expanding contributions to quality research and scholarly publication.
