
07 July 2026 – Mountain Province State University (MPSU)-Tadian formally welcomed newly enrolled and continuing students during its Welcome Program and General Student Orientation held yesterday at the IPED Building, Tadian Campus.
Said orientation gathered students, university officials, faculty members, staff, and invited speakers to familiarize participants with the University’s academic programs, student services, policies, and campus support systems as they begin the new academic year.
University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue graced the event and delivered an inspirational message, encouraging students to embrace the opportunities and responsibilities that come with college life. “College is exciting. You will meet new friends, discover new interests, join organizations, attend events, and create memories that will stay with you for life,” he said, “but never forget why you’re here. You are here to learn. You are here to grow. You are here to prepare for your future.”
Meanwhile, Campus Administrator Dr. Brent Greg E. Gomuad officially opened the program, followed by introductions of key university officials and a clear, uplifting presentation of MPSU’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and Thrusts.
Representatives from the College of Agriculture and Forestry, College of Teacher Education, College of Engineering, and College of Criminal Justice Education walked students through what to expect in their respective academic programs. Further, students received briefings on essential university services, academic and student support programs, campus policies, safety and security, scholarships, and other concerns to help them successfully navigate university life. Student organizations also introduced their programs through intermission presentations.
Invited resource speakers also discussed community and public safety concerns. PCPT Rodel T. Abnasan, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Chief of the Tadian Municipal Police Station, represented by PLT Janet T. Amoy, discussed peace and order concerns. Hon. Jovita D. San Jose, Barangay Captain of Poblacion, Tadian, presented the barangay ordinances and other community concerns. Meanwhile, SFO3 Moris T. Madchiw, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, represented by FO2 Fredy O. Abibico, conducted an orientation on fire and earthquake preparedness.
