Mountain Province State University (MPSU), under the leadership of University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, participated in the Agri -Aqua Regional Echo on Technology Commercialization Mentorship Series (TCMS) on Agri-Aqua Technology Commercialization and Intellectual Property (IP) Valuation for Cordillera Consortium Member Institutions (CMIs) held on July 6-9, 2026, at the Agribased Technology Business Incubator/Innovation Center (ATBI/IC) Training Hall, BSU, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Representing the University in the four-day capability-building program were personnel from the Innovation, Research Development, Publication and Extension (MPSU-IRDPE) Mr. Vincent S. Aluyen and Mr. Timothy W. Puma-at. The MPSU delegation intently participated in the lectures, workshops, and knowledge exchange sessions aimed at enhancing the capacity of SUCs and CMIs in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in technology commercialization through a mentoring series on Intellectual Property management, market validation, business development and industry linkage.
The capability-building session is initiated by DOST-PCAARRD in partnership with Benguet State University (BSU), aimed to elevate the regional innovation ecosystem and promote the utilization and commercialization of research outputs. The coaching activity included modules on Agri-Aqua Innovation System Concepts, Developing Technology Transfer Plan, Enabling Laws of Technology Transfer, Commercialization Strategies (for Start-Ups, Spin-Offs, Outright Sale, TBI, and Licensing), Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Technology Readiness Assessment (TRA), Technology Pre-Commercialization (Feasibility Study and Writing Business Plan for Technology), Technology Valuation and Licensing, Developing Technology Transfer Plan and Valuation Market for Research Output.
MPSU’s participation in these initiatives reflects the University’s continuing commitment to advancing research commercialization. MPSU extends its sincere appreciation to DOST-PCAARRD, Benguet State University ATBI/IC, the resource speakers, facilitators, and organizers for broadening the capability of technical personnel in the tech transfer and patent sector. MPSU participants also express their gratitude to University President Dr. Edgar G.
