17 July 2026 – A total of 116 Criminology students from the MASANDIGAN Class of 2026–2027 of Mountain Province State University (MPSU) officially commenced their internship journey following the Turnover Ceremony and Reception Rites held at the Camp Montes, Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO) Grounds, Bontoc, MP.
In his keynote message, MPSU President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, through Dr. Edgar B. Mapangdol, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education and Liberal Arts (CCJELA), stressed that the internship is more than just an academic requirement, it’s a test of character and commitment to public service. “Every challenge you overcome during your internship is preparing you for the responsibilities you will one day carry as guardians of peace, safety, and justice,” Dr. Cue said. “Never settle for doing only what is expected. Strive to do more.”
The ceremony formally turned over the interns to MPSU’s partner law enforcement and public safety agencies for their practicum training while recognizing their invaluable role in shaping future criminology professionals through hands-on and experiential learning.
Participating agencies included the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO) headed by PCOL Marcelo B. Polig, the Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by PMAJ Robert B. Sagandoy, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) under FINSP Calvin B. Mondero, and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) headed by JCINSP John S. Melecio.
With the formal turnover completed, the MASANDIGAN Class of 2026–2027 now begins its practicum, carrying forward MPSU’s mission of developing competent, disciplined, and service-oriented future law enforcement professionals grounded in integrity, humility, and excellence.
