Through the leadership of University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, the College of International Hospitality and Sustainable Tourism Management (CIHSTM) of Mountain Province State University (MPSU) conducted an Environmental Stewardship Program: Clean-Up Drive Activity, reaffirming the university’s commitment to social responsibility, environmental conservation, and community engagement yesterday, July 22, 2026 at Tadian, Mountain Province.
Through active involvement in the maintenance of the site, fertilizing of coffee, potting of soil, making holes, picking coffee seedlings, and transplanting them, participants not only kept the surroundings clean and healthy but also engaged in hands-on practices that directly addressed environmental concerns. These activities allowed them to contribute meaningfully to the preservation of the local environment while embodying the principles of stewardship and sustainability.
Furthermore, the clean-up drive serves as an extension of classroom learning by allowing students and faculty to apply the principles of sustainability and community service in a real-world setting.
Said activity is envisioned as a model of how academic institutions can actively contribute to community development while nurturing environmentally conscious citizens also a reminder that education is not confined to classrooms — it is lived out in service, stewardship, and solidarity.
