University Administration Hall— In todayโs academic landscape, where global recognition is key to excellence, institutions and researchers need to understand how rankings work, how to build academic reputation, and how to optimize research publication practices. Adhering to these, the University, through its Research, Development, and Extension, in collaboration with the Global Health Focus (GHF) University Excellence, is conducting a workshop on “Understanding the Landscape of World University Rankings and Strengthening Institutional Strategies for Scopus Publications,” today, 28 July 2025.
Offering an in-depth look at the connection between global university rankings and effective research publication strategies, this workshop explores the methods used in top university rankings, offering insight into the key factors that determine institutional excellence. It also provides practical strategies to boost research visibility, impact, and qualityโcritical elements for building a strong global reputation. By enhancing these areas, the University can increase international collaboration and improve its chances of securing sustainable external funding.
Resource speakers and workshop facilitators include GHF University Excellence Founder Prof. Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III, MD, MPH, MSc, PhD; GHF National Program Manager Mr. Jerico B. Ogaya; and GHF National Program Assistant Mr. Christian Joseph N. Ong.
Key topics include strategic publishing, citation analysis, internationalization, collaboration techniques, grant writing, effective use of digital platforms, and cost-efficient approaches to global engagement.
In his message, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue stressed that this activity paves the way for MPSU to claim its place in the global conversation, while also representing its people, culture, identity, and the academe.
“Every paper you write is a bridgeโfrom the Cordilleras to the international community, and every publication is proof that we at MPSU are not silent observers, we are active contributors to solving real problems, to inspiring new ideas, to creating change,” he added.
Said workshop will end tomorrow, 29 July 2025.#
