30 July 2025 — The three-day training-workshop for the effective implementation of PATHFIT 3 and 4 ended yesterday.
The first day focused on revisiting and reinforcing key takeaways from the International Physical Education Convention, which the PATHFit instructors had attended. The second and third days featured demonstrations and return demonstrations in Taekwondo and Arnis, held at the University Auditorium, as well as Swimming sessions conducted in Mainit, Bontoc.
Seeing the incorporation of orienteering, combative sports, and swimming into PATHFIT 3 and 4 courses of the academe, as “a bold and necessary move for MPSU,” University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, in his message, noted that education should be about integrating physical activities as “survival tools, discipline shapers, and character builders.”
“As we integrate also other physical activities that are more practical and necessary, we may be able to produce learners who are physically fit, mentally strong, emotionally resilient, and socially responsible,” he added.
In addition, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, in her welcome message during the first day, viewed the event as a “platform and catalyst” to elevate the University’s teaching strategies.
“We aim to streamline and enrich our approach, ensuring our learners gain not just athletic skills but also lifelong habits of fitness and personal growth,” she added.
The University extends its appreciation to the following resource speakers: Jones Q. Calingayan, Micahel L. Anayasan, Manolito E. Bullanday, Vivian Grace L. Kitongan, Joel S. Cabanilla, Sabado A. Padtoc, Bernice B. Lucando, Dennis M. Daw-as, Kelanie Mae F. Adchak, and Venus Naida P. Bawiyan.#
