JBA Building, Samoki, MP- The University, in partnership with the Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Mountain Province Field Office (MPFO) conducted an orientation and workshop, dubbed, “Creating a Performance-Based Culture Towards Excellence,” yesterday, 28 July 2025.
This activity was conducted to ensure that the University continues to strive for excellence innovative in integrating and optimizing its human resources functions, after receiving the Bronze Award for PRIME-HRM Maturity Levell II this year Ms. Anita Verina T. Paredes, CSC-MPFO’s Field Office Director, and Resource Specialist I Mr. Argie Q. Aquino served as the keynote speakers.
Still focusing on the four pillars of HRM (Recruitment, Selection and Placement; Learning and Development; Performance Management: and Rewards Recognition) this orientation and workshop aims to move beyond merely adhering to procedures, but capacitating individuals to effectively manage these practices. Hence, a competency-based human resource management is needed. This is achieved by identifying, developing and leveraging employees’ competencies across various HR functions. To do so, this activity included the orientation and workshop on the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) and Performance Management in HRM.
SPMS is a mechanism that links employee performance with organizational performance to enhance the performance orientation of the compensation system. It ensures that the employee achieves the objectives set by the organization and the organization, on the other hand, achieves the objectives that it has set as its strategic plan.
Performance management in HRM is a continuous process aimed at aligning employee performance with organizational goals. It involves setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, assessing progress, and offering support to enhance both individual and team productivity. This process is crucial for maximizing employee potential, fostering engagement, and ultimately contributing to the long-term success of the organization.
Said activity was attended by the PMT Committee, HRMPSB Committee, and all unit heads.#
