With the theme โElevating Excellence through Syllabus Innovation for Advanced Educators,โ the activity brought together faculty members to explore best practices in developing effective, contextual, and outcome-based syllabiโparticularly in graduate-level education.
Director for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Rhoda B. Galangco talked about understanding Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the OBE syllabus, and integrating Indigenous Education, Peace Education, and Sustainable Goals. A writeshop followed afterwards.
University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by SSDO Dean Ms. Jennifer Ruth C. Tuazon, emphasized the importance of rigorous and relevant course design in his keynote message.
โThat is why this workshop is vital,โ said Ms. Tuazon, reading on behalf of Dr. Cue. โThe syllabus should reflect cutting-edge knowledge, advanced research methods, and a global perspective, while staying rooted in local context and national priorities. It should not only prepare our graduate students for academic excellence but also for real-world leadership, ethical decision-making, and meaningful contribution to society.โ#
