The intensive audit was spearheaded by the ISO Core Team Leaders and members of the Internal Quality Audit Team. The team for the Bontoc offices included Dr. Christie Lynne C. Codod, Mr. Alexander Donato, Ms. May Joy Mongo, Ms. Melodave Foman-eg, Dr. Fely Akilith, Ms. Carolyne Dale Iguid, and Ms. Khay Ann Dula. For the Tadian offices, the audit was conducted by Dr. Rudy Papsa-ao, Jr., Ms. Meriel Diwayan, Ms. Joyce Timidan, Ms. Emy Bantasan, Ms. Doris Egas, and Ms. Jella Marrero.
The audit’s purpose was to elevate work efficiency, enhance safety protocols, and ultimately improve the quality of service delivered to students and stakeholders. “This audit is more than just about cleanliness; it’s about fostering a systematic approach to our daily operations,” stated a representative from the Human Resources Management Office. “By applying the 7S principles, we are building an environment that promotes productivity, minimizes waste, and ensures a safer, more pleasant atmosphere for everyone.”
Prior to the main evaluation, all MPSU offices were encouraged to dedicate time on September 17, 2025, to prepare their respective workspaces. This university-wide effort saw employees actively engaging in decluttering, organizing, and sprucing up their offices, setting the stage for the rigorous assessment.
The audit team meticulously evaluated each office based on a detailed 7S Principlesโ checklist, which included Sort (eliminating unnecessary items), Systematize (organizing essential items), Sweep (maintaining a clean environment), Standardize (establishing consistent procedures), Safety (prioritizing safety), Self-Discipline (instilling the habit of following principles), and Sustain (committing to long-term improvement).
Offices were rated as “Poor,” “Fair,” or “Excellent” in each category, providing a comprehensive overview of their adherence to good housekeeping standards. The results of the audit are currently being finalized, and the winning office, demonstrating exemplary adherence to the 7S principles, will be recognized for its efforts, receiving a commendation and a corresponding prize.
The successful implementation of the audit underscores MPSU’s dedication to creating an optimal learning and working environment, aligning with global best practices in quality management. This initiative not only strengthens MPSU’s operational framework but also cultivates a culture of pride and responsibility among its faculty and staff.#
