The Fine Dining Event fosters meaningful connections, valuable life skills, and unforgettable memories. Held on October 11, 2025, at the Coffee and Lemon Hotel, the event for students of the College of Teacher Education (CTE) enrolled in the Social Orientation (SocOr) course went beyond serving exquisite cuisineโit focused on building relationships and cultivating essential life skills.
University President Dr. Edgar Cue, in his message delivered by Mr. Kheld D. Peru, Project Development Officer I, highlighted the essence of fine dining. He said, โWhen we sit at the table, we are reminded that dining is about nourishmentโof both body and soul. This is a venue where we listen with openness, speak with kindness, and recognize that every person around us has a story worth hearing.โ
The event highlighted the importance of people skills, table manners, and dining etiquette. More importantly, it emphasized the value of learning about one another and building lasting connections. As Dr. Cue noted: โThe best meals are not remembered because of the food alone, but because of the company we shared them with and the lessons we carried forward.โ
The Fine Dining Event, organized by the College of International Hospitality and Sustainable Tourism Management (CIHSTM) and the SocOr Unit, was a resounding success with heartfelt appreciation by Dr. Cue, whereas, he commended the faculty for spearheading the meaningful program and for emphasizing the importance of human connection and the life-enriching skills it fosters.
The event served as a reminder that true excellence in hospitality goes beyond technical know-howโit embraces empathy, kindness, and genuine human interaction.#
