The program focuses on training student peer counselors to become attentive listeners and compassionate allies to their classmates. By equipping participants with essential interpersonal skills, the initiative aims to create a safe and supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to grow alongside their peers.
Highlights of the event included Basic Skills Training led by Dr. Delia Lorena B. Dalmacio, Guidance Counselor and Counseling Coordinator, and Team Building and Leadership sessions facilitated by Ms. Charmaine Ayesha D. Pisilen. The participants also engaged in experience-sharing, brainstorming activities, and an open forum that encouraged honest dialogue and collaborative learning.
Vice President for Administration and Finance Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr., representing University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, described the program as a โmovement of kindness,โ emphasizing the power of reaching out and fostering a true sense of belonging within the university community.
The event was also graced by the presence of Campus Director Dr. Brent Greg E. Gomuad, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco, represented by Ms. Yvonne Rhea O. Bolcio, and SSDO Coordinator Ms. Adella II Bantasan.
