The activity, dubbed Basic Life Support Training and Spine Board Management for NSTP Students in Promoting Gender Equality, is a collaboration between MPSU and the Philippines Red Cross Mountain Province (PRC-MP) Chapter.
Ms Carmela T. Pucay from PRC-MP Chapter served as the resource speaker. She discussed various topics including, the Legal Concerns of BLS; Emergency Action Principles; five (5) Links or Chains of Survival; Basic Life Support; Cardiac Arrest and Heart Attack; Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation; Demonstration of CPR; Foreign Body Obstruction; and Demonstration of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO).
Demonstrations, hands-on practices and practical exams were conducted after the discussions allowing the NSTP students to demonstrate CPRs, and apply FBAO management techniques.
University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue viewed the event as โnecessaryโ in equipping the students and personnel โwith the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively and confidently in critical situations.โ He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude PRC-MP for the collaboration.
โBy participating in this training, you are not only gaining valuable knowledge and skills but also contributing to a broader movement that aims to enhance the well-being and safety of all individuals,โ Dr. Cue added.
The training will cater to various NSTP sections scheduled throughout this month supporting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).#
