To honor cadet achievements and to recognize the accomplishments of outgoing leaders, the University, through its National Service Training Program (NSTP), recognized its Reserved Officers Training Corps (ROTC) during the RAATI Awarding 2024, Donning of Ranks, Turn-over Ceremony, and Opening of COQC ceremonies, held at the University Auditorium on 19 October 2024.
The Regional Annual and Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) Awarding 2024 recognized the achievements of cadets and their trainers as Champion in this year’s RAATI held in May.The Donning of Ranks acknowledged the advancement of cadet officers based on their performance and dedication. It reminded the cadets of their leadership roles and the expectations placed upon them.
Moreover, the Turnover Ceremony ensured a smooth transition of leadership responsibilities, preventing disruptions in the organization’s operations. It acknowledged the outgoing leaders’ accomplishments while outlining the incoming leaders’ priorities and goals.
In addition, the Opening of the Cadet Officer Qualifying Course (COQC) served as an initial screening process to identify qualified cadets with the potential to become future Army officers. This course provided essential foundational skills for success in the Philippine Army Advanced ROTC Training Program. 66 COQC from Bontoc and Tadian campuses were recognized.
In her message as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Geraldine L. Madjaco reminded the cadets of the corresponding responsibilities of their positions. “You are now entrusted with the duty to lead by example, protect our core values, and inspire those who will follow in your footsteps,” she added.
Furthermore, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue represented by VP for Administration and Finance Mr. Reynaldo P. Gayo, Jr. pointed out that the awarding and donning of rank ceremony will be the cadets’ front door towards a more exciting journey on serving the nation. “We are gathered here today to celebrate a victory that, without everyone’s hard work, we won’t be able to achieve,” he remarked.
