A total of 517 graduates from the University’s Bontoc campus were awarded their diplomas today during the second batch of the Universityโs 54th commencement ceremony.
The graduates came from the School of Criminal Justice Education and Liberal Arts and the School of Accountancy, Business Education and Technology.
Dr. Nancy Bantog, Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology and a member of the Universityโs Board of Regents, served as Guest of Honor and Speaker. In her address, Dr. Bantog encouraged the graduates to honor the institutionโs role in their academic formation.
โAs you celebrate this milestone, acknowledge the pivotal role your university has made in shaping your academic journey,โ she said. โAs you go forth, remember that your achievements are testaments to the University’s mission to foster talent, drive progress, and make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and communities,โ Dr. Bantog added.
She concluded by urging the graduates to carry with them the roots that shaped themโtheir culture, their community, and their values.
Meanwhile, an inspirational message from Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr. was delivered by Mr. Dionisio Wacdisen. Graduates were reminded to move forward with resilience and a sense of purpose.
โFace the future with courage and optimism,โ the message read. โEvery difficulty you face will present an opportunity for you to grow, learn, and become the best version of yourself. Take chances, follow your passions with persistence, and do not be afraid to step beyond your comfort zones.โ
This batch also included eight graduates who earned the distinction of Cum Laude: Ms. Scarlet Jane P. Bayang, Ms. Wyndee T. Santowen, Mr. Sheldon Raige A. Sumeg-ang, Ms. Annie Mae M. Siazon, Ms. Gretchen M. Nabunat, Ms. Megan Jocielle P. Ongan, Ms. Emily C. Ngarad, and Mr. Lance D. Dario.
Bearing the theme, “MPSU at the Summit: Rooted Globally, Rising Globally,” this year’s 54th Commencement Exercises is the first since the academe became a University.
