Magwilang, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, presented the paper โOptimizing Gravity-Fed Water Supply Systems for Climate-Resilient Mountain Indigenous Communities in the Philippines,โ which proposes analytical and engineering solutions to improve Bontocโs rural water distribution system.
The paper, authored by Dr. Magwilang together with Annie Lourie Y. Paredes, Dr. Francisco C. Armas, Helen Grace P. Bugnay, and Rose D. Dagupen, earned Best Paper in the Thematic Track on Climate-Responsive Forest, Watershed, and River Basin Management. The session was chaired by Dr. Hong Xuan Do of Nong Lam University (Vietnam) and Prof. Vahid Nourani of the University of Tabriz (Iran).
This international recognition underscores MPSUโs strong commitment to climate-responsive research, the integration of indigenous knowledge, and sustainable development. By excelling on the global stage, MPSU continues to advance its mission as a highland university championing climate action and innovation for resilient communities.#
