
Eight grantees of the Student Monetary Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) Education Assistance for MPSPC, with their parents/guardians, received cash incentives of Php 25,000 each today, 03 December 2024.
Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr., represented by Political Affairs Officer II Mr. Dionisio Wacdisen, urged the beneficiaries not to play with the time given for them to finish their studies nor waste the resources such as the grant that they received, as it cannot be retrieved. Instead, the grantees were challenged to make a difference until they reached their goals.
In addition, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, represented by Chief Administration Officer Mr. Dexter C. Lingbanan expressed his gratitude to The Congressional Office and CHED for the program. โThe monetary support you are giving to our students does not only help them with their academic needs but can also help in curtailing the financial burden of their families,โ he added.
The SMART educational assistance is funded by the Office of the Congressman under the Commission on Higher Educationโs SMART program. It provides a one-time financial assistance of Php 25,000 to eligible undergraduate students across various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country. Said program is a part of the National Employment Recovery Strategy of the government.
