
The activity was successfully conducted in partnership with the Provincial Government of Mountain Province on March 30, 2024, with its objectives fully met. The event provided students from diverse backgrounds, including minority groups, an invaluable opportunity to experience a wide range of artistic and cultural displays. These students also served as ambassadors for Mountain Province, showcasing the region’s rich heritage and cultural diversity.
The activity was particularly impactful for women faculty members and non-teaching staff, offering them a robust platform to advocate for sociocultural inclusion and gender equality. This initiative not only strengthened the Collegeโs connections and relationships with the Provincial Government but also with the broader Mountain Province community. Significantly, it contributed to the widespread dissemination of womenโs issues, gender-based advocacies, and inclusive dispositions through collaborative efforts with the Provincial Government.
Sixteen young ambassadors from various communities within Mountain Province participated in the activities. These ambassadors, representing a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, highlighted the importance of inclusivity and cultural knowledge. Casual interviews conducted during the event placed a particular focus on gender equality. Participants shared their perspectives on the importance of gender equality in fostering a more inclusive and respectful community. These interviews underscored the necessity of ongoing dialogue and education to promote sociocultural inclusion and the equitable treatment of all individuals, regardless of gender.
The winners of the titles Mr. and Ms. Mountain Province 2024 were Mr. Besao and Ms. Sadanga, respectively. The first runners-up were Mr. Tadian and Ms. Bontoc, while the second runners-up were Mr. Paracelis and Ms. Sagada. Additional recognitions were awarded as follows: Mr. and Ms. Tupperware Brands (Mr. and Ms. Sadanga), Ms. Coca-Cola Body (Ms. Bontoc), Mr. Pepsi Cola (Mr. Bauko), Mr. Congeniality (Mr. Sabangan), Ms. Congeniality (Ms. Paracelis), Mr. and Ms. Wit (Mr. Paracelis and Ms. Bontoc), Best in Talent (Mr. Sagada and Ms. Bauko), Best in Traditional Wear (Mr. Paracelis and Ms. Paracelis), Best in Swimwear (Mr. Besao and Ms. Sadanga), Best in Creative Costume (Mr. Besao and Ms. Sagada), Best in Formal Wear (Mr. Besao), and Best in Evening Gown (Ms. Sadanga).
In addition to the pageant, other activities were conducted to further promote cultural awareness and gender equality. These included a seminar on Cordillera Autonomy, workshops on Inclusive Public Speaking, participation in the Lang-ay on the Street activities, and the celebration of Mountain Province Foundation Day.
