Higher Ed sector drafts equivalency matrix, grade transmutation scheme to improve quality of learning

Administration Conference Hall— The Higher Education sector of the University facilitated a two-day seminar-workshop that resulted to the drafting of the Equivalency Matrix per subject and an appropriate Grade Transmutation scheme.

Said components are critical components of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEAAP).

An equivalency matrix serves as a standardized reference that maps competencies, learning outcomes and experiental evidence to specific course requirements. Grade transmutation on the other hand provides a fair mechanism for converting assessment results into institutionally recognized academic grades.

Clearly defining how courses, programs, and qualifications according to University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, who was represented by MPSU-Bontoc Campus Administrator Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, can enable the academe to “open more pathways for learners to transition smoothly” within and beyond the institution.

Said event commenced yesterday, February 11 and was concluded today, February 12.
