University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue graced the Culminating Activity on Social Orientation held at Coffee and Lemon, Samoki, Bontoc on April 11, bringing an inspiring message that centered on the importance of family connection, presence, and meaningful relationships.
In his inspirational message, Dr. Cue encouraged students to reflect on the reality of modern family life and communication.
“Think about your own family table. How many times have you sat with your parents, yet everyone is silent—not because there is nothing to say, but because everyone is looking down… at their phones? No more stories. No more laughter. No more ‘How was your day?’ What you know are updates from people online—but not the updates from the people who raised you. We have become so connected to the world… but disconnected from home. That is why the table matters.”, he said.
He further reminded the students to bring the lesson beyond the activity venue.
“When you go home, bring this lesson with you. Bring back the habit of sitting at the table—not just to eat, but to understand and appreciate one another.”, he added.
Finally, Cue emphasized a lasting reflection on relationships and life itself.
“Remember: life is like a table—and the quality of your journey will always depend on the connections you build along the way.”, he concluded.
The event was also graced by guest speaker Ms. Joan del Rosario Canisi, who joined the activity as part of its meaningful culmination.
